Most Recent . . .
Coming off a two-week layoff for final exams and Spring Break, UCLA defeated No. 7 USC this past Saturday, winning 6-3. The Bruins were led by Annica Cooper at No. 2 singles, who breezed by eighth-ranked Jewel Peterson 6-2, 6-3. Also picking up singles victories for UCLA were Abigail Spears, Elizabeth Schmidt and Petya Marinova. With a 4-2 advantage heading into doubles play, UCLA needed just one more victory to clinch the dual-match victory. The Bruins clinched the match at No. 2 doubles as Spears and Schmidt downed USC's Loyola/Safarova 8-4. Saturday's win over USC was the second for UCLA this season. UCLA won a 5-4 decision over the Women of Troy on Mar. 1 at USC.
ITA Rankings - Walker Breaks Into Top-10 . . .

Freshmen Make up 20-Win Club . . .
With her 6-1, 6-4 win over USC's Veronika Safarova last Saturday, UCLA freshman Abigail Spears won her 20th match of the season, joining fellow freshman Sara Walker in the 20-win club. Spears is currently 20-8 this season and owns a 13-3 dual-match record. Walker, who hasn't played singles since Mar. 5, is 24-5 overall and 10-1 in dual-match play. She won her 20th match this season back on Feb. 11 in the form of a 6-2, 6-3 victory over No. 61 Alina Wygonowska of Oregon.
Walker Returns To UCLA Lineup . . .
Freshman Sara Walker returned to the lineup against USC last Saturday, teaming with Amanda Basica at No. 1 doubles. Prior to Saturday, Walker had not played since UCLA's match with Georgia back on Mar. 5. Walker has spent much of the last three weeks back home with her family in El Paso, Tex., mourning the loss of her mother.
