WESTWOOD, Calif. -- UCLA women's soccer head coach Jillian Ellis continues to add to her top-notch recruiting class, recently signing U.S. National Team member Nandi Pryce.

Pryce, a defender from Casselberry, Fla., is one of the most sought-after recruits in this year's class. She gained significant recognition this past February after starting two games for the U.S. Women's National Team against Norway. She is also on the U.S. Under-21 National Team, which is coached by Ellis.

UCLA's second Parade High School All-American to commit this year (the first was Sarah-Gayle Swanson), Pryce led Lake Howell HS to the state championships this past year. She is a two-time state MVP and a four-time all-state selection.

"We are thrilled with Nandi's decision to attend UCLA," Coach Ellis said. "Her impact on our soccer program will be immediate. Her international experience as a member of the U.S. Women's National Team and her personal qualities make Nandi a tremendous asset."

Pryce is one of eight players to have signed with UCLA's 2000 recruiting class. In February, UCLA received letters of intent from the following: Victoria Bloom (forward/El Modena HS/Orange, CA), Lindsay Greco (forward-midfielder/Capistrano Valley HS/Mission Viejo, CA), Jaclyn Harwood (goalkeeper/Monte Vista HS/Danville, CA), Kathryn Lee (defender/Lincoln HS/Stockton, CA), Michelle Mangiardi (midfielder-forward/Mission San Jose HS/Fremont, CA), Jessica Stamp (central midfielder/Klein HS/Klein, TX) and Sarah-Gayle Swanson (forward/J.K. Mullen Christian Brothers'College Prep/Denver, CO).
