Aug. 15, 2006
The Sunday, Aug. 20 exhibition game between UCLA and Loyola Marymount has been moved from UCLA to LMU's Sullivan Field. The game will now take place at 4:00 pm.
UCLA is ranked No. 10 in the NSCAA/adidas pre-season poll. In 2005, the Bruins won their fourth consecutive Pac-10 Championship and earned their 23rd consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins return 13 players from last year's squad, including four All-Pac-10 honorees, and welcome 13 newcomers.
LMU finished 8-8-4 and placed third in the West Coast Conference. The Lions return 19 letterwinners, including six all-conference players from 2005.
Both head coaches are UCLA graduates and NCAA champions. Bruin head coach Jorge Salcedo scored the game-winning penalty kick in the 1990 NCAA championship match, and LMU head coach Paul Krumpe was team captain of UCLA's first national championship team in 1985.
Tickets are available at the gate for $8 for adults and $6 for children and seniors.
