The UCLA men's track and field team had an impressive first indoor meet showing as three NCAA qualifying marks were achieved as senior Craig Everhart and the 4x400m relay team led the way.
Senior Craig Everhart won the 400m in a provisional time of 47.04, while freshman Elijah Wells was second in 47.68, a new lifetime-best for the Bruin newcomer. Brandon Johnson placed third in the 60m in a time of 6.82.
Senior Erik Emilsson placed sixth in the mile in a provisional time of 4:03.76.
The UCLA 4x400m relay team of Everhart, Wells, sophomore James Rhoades and Johnson ran a provisional qualifying time of 3:08.84 to win that event.
In the pole vault, the Bruins juniors Mike Landers and David Shortenhaus tied for second with jumps of 16-00.75. Senior Dave Murphy placed fourth with a jump of 16-00.75, while sophomore Zack Miller finished fifth (15-7).
The Bruins will continue the indoor season next weekend when they head to Boise, ID and the United Heritage Invitational.
