O'Hara Named Pac-10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week

April 16, 2001

UCLA junior Tracy O'Hara is this week's (April 16) Pacific-10 Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her victory in the pole vault at last Saturday's Bruin track meet at Drake Stadium vs. Nebraska and CS Northridge.

O'Hara won the women's pole vault with a mark of 13-9 1/4. It was her season-best, the No. 2 collegiate mark in the U. S. and an NCAA automatic qualifier. Her winning effort helped lead the Bruin women to triangular and dual scoring victories over Nebraska and CS Northridge.

From San Diego Rancho Bernardo HS, O'Hara has had an outstanding Bruin career in the women's pole vault. Last year as a sophomore, she won both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor titles and set the American collegiate indoor (14-6) and collegiate outdoor (14-7 1/4) records.

This season, O'Hara placed second (13-9 1/4) in the women's pole vault at the 2001 NCAA Indoor, helping the Bruins win their second consecutive team title.
