Two Bruins Named Second Team Pac-10 All-Academic

WALNUT CREEK, CA - Following are the 2003 Pacific-10 Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic teams, announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

In men's cross country, junior Erik Emilsson and redshirt freshman Chad Galbreath were named second team All-Academic. Emilsson is a business/economics major with a 3.46 gpa. Galbreath is undeclared with a 3.38 gpa. Emilsson was an individual qualifier for the NCAA Championships. He placed 90th in 30:52.7. At the NCAA West Regional Championships, Galbreath finished 57th in 31:10.

Sophomore Mohammed Qazi received honorable mention.
