UCLA maintained its No. 3 ranking in this week's Collegiate Water Polo Association national poll, published Wednesday. The Bruins (3-0 overall, 1-0 MPSF) defeated Long Beach State 8-6 and Loyola Marymount 9-4 last weekend.
Stanford held on to the top spot in the poll by collecting all but one first-place vote. The Cardinal will be hard-pressed to maintain that ranking however, as they travel to Los Angeles to meet No. 2 USC on Saturday before visiting the Bruins on Sunday.
The only change in the Top 10 saw Pepperdine and California swap positions, with the Waves edging up to fourth and the Bears falling to fifth. Long Beach State, UC Irvine, UCSB, UC San Diego, and Pacific filled out positions 6-10.
In other news, UCLA head coach Adam Krikorian announced a time change for the alumni exhibition match to be held Oct. 7 at Sunset Canyon Rec Center. The alumni game will now begin at 11 a.m.
