UCLA Head Coach Karl Dorrell
"This was a good win today. We had a much faster start than we had the last few weeks even though they scored first. But we responded with a score and evened it up. Soon after, we took the lead and kept it. We did some good things early that we haven't been able to do in the last few games with our fourth quarter heroics. It was good to have that control this week. We improved on a lot of areas defensively, and we put points on the board in critical situations deep in enemy territory. Our special teams were solid. We had one chance to put up a big punt return, but Maurice (Drew) got chased down. With the ball in his hands, a lot of things can happen. It was a good team performance, and we made a lot of steps of improvement."

"I liked our opportunities, and we just need to work on getting better and staying healthy and building on all the great things we are doing up to this point. We got our seventh win, my first seventh win. And it's great to get over that hurdle. So I'm pleased with that."

(On Oregon State)
"They were doing a good job in their throwing game. That was the area that hurt us most today. We had effective run defense today, but our pass defense had some letdowns. They had some huge plays on fourth down. We weren't perfect, but we made steps to improve. This conference is competitive, and there are teams that know how to throw the football. Our biggest issue has been our run defense, and we made steps to improve."

(On Drew Olson)
"Drew has played well all the way through, from training camp to tonight and continues to play very well. He's battled all the way through, and his mindset for what he wants to accomplish in his senior season is happening for him. It's fun to see all the hard work and his vision that he had for himself."

(On the 1-0 philosophy)
"It has nothing to do with our [current success]. It's something we've believed in since the very beginning. We've done things the way UCLA wants to do things, and you can make your own assessment of one win at a time. We know what we need to do, and we know how we need to prepare. We're sticking to our own plan."

(On Maurice Drew's versatility)
"We've talked about his ability to be used in different areas all season long. He makes his plays when he gets the opportunity to touch the ball. Those things haven't been any different than you've seen all season long, and we'll continue to put the ball in his hands."

(On being surprised about this year's great start)
"We've envisioned a lot of great things for our program. I'm not surprised."

Oregon State Head Coach Mike Riley
"I thought we screwed it up in the first half. Penalties were a big factor, and I was really disappointed in that. We had some good plays but we just shot ourselves in the foot."

(On UCLA)
"UCLA has a very good offense, and they're very balanced. Maurice Drew is an excellent football player. Their tight end is good, and so is their QB. We did not want to kick it where [Drew] could return it. I thought our kicker did a good job."

Oregon State Quarterback Matt Moore
(On returning to UCLA)
"It wasn't really a big deal. It was just playing a game. There was no reason to feel pressure. I had that one interception to (Spencer) Havner, but other than that I felt good. I talked to Maurice Drew and Coach Dorrell after the game. It was all good."
