10 Bruins Travel to Indianapolis
Head coach Cyndi Gallagher and 10 of her swimmers travel to the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind., this week to compete in the 2000 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. Swimmers competing in the championships for the Bruins include Nicole Beck (100 Fly, 100 Back, 200 Back), LeAnne Cadag (100 Back), Brighid Dwyer (100 Fly, 100 Back), Bethany Goodwin (100 Fly, 200 Fly), Lyndee Hovsepian (100 Breast, 200 Breast), Jen Noddle (200 IM, 100 Breast, 200 Breast), Keiko Price (50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free), Julia Voitovitsch (100 Fly, 200 Fly), Katie Younglove (400 Free, 100 Fly, 200 Fly) and Erin Zehntner (200 Free, 400 Free, 1,500 Free). UCLA's 200 and 400 Medley Relay teams will also participate this weekend. The three-day Championships will be contested in meters.

Two Bruins enter this weekend with top-10 seed times in the championships, as Price is sixth in the 50 Free and Voitovitsch is sixth in the 100 Fly. Both Bruin relays are ranked 10th by seed times.

Divers Narrowly Miss NCAA Berths at Zone E Championships
Three Bruin divers, Anne Baghramian (Long Beach, CA), Regan Gosnell (Potomac, MD) and Heidi Prosser (University Place, WA), participated in the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships last weekend in Federal Way, Wash. Diving Berths to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships are determined by an allocation system that takes the top-eight participants based on a combination of the results of all three events: 1-Meter, 3-Meter and Platform diving. Unfortunately, Zone E receives eight berths for the 2000 Championships, while Prosser was ninth and Gosnell was 10th. Baghramian finished 13th overall.

In the 1-Meter competition, Prosser was UCLA's top finisher with a score of 390.90, which was good for fifth place. Baghramian was 12th with a 365.30, while Gosnell scored a 346.20 for 17th. The 3-Meter again saw Prosser take UCLA's top finish with a seventh-place standing on a score of 465.90. Baghramian was 11th with a 447.80 and Gosnell finished 25th. Gosnell finished fourth in platform with a 432.05, UCLA's top score.
