Bruins Compete in the Seventh Annual Berg Cup

This Week- The UCLA women's rowing team competes in the Berg Cup on March 23, in Newport Beach, CA, hosted by Orange Coast College. Six schools are expected to compete in this weekend's event: Orange Coast College, UC Irvine, UCLA, Chapman University, Long Beach State, and the University of San Diego.

The Berg Cup, in its seventh year, is a perpetual regatta in honor of Richard Berg, an esteemed supporter of the Orange Coast College women's rowing program. The only three teams to win the Berg Cup have been USC, San Diego State, and the defending champion, University of San Diego.

The tournament features the traditional spring 2000m race format, and the winner of women's varsity race will be presented with the 2002 Berg Cup. The tournament begins at 7:30 AM with the first novice race.
