No. 2 Bruin Water Polo Defeats No. 4 Cal 8-4

March 30, 2002

In the final home game of the 2002 season, the Bruins defeated the California Golden Bears 8-4. With the victory, UCLA improves its record to 15-3, 7-1 MPSF. The leading Bruin scorers were senior Kelly Heuchan and junior Robin Beauregard, who each netted a pair of goals. Also scoring for the Bruins were Natalie Golda, Maureen Flanagan, Amber Stachowski and Ashley Stachowski. Jaime Hipp ended the day with four saves.

For California, Brenna Fleener, Jodie Needles, Julia Cesnik and Ericka Lorenz each netted a goal. Lauren Dennis had 11 saves for Cal.

Next up, UCLA will face cross-town rival USC on Friday, April 5, at 3:00 PM at USC. On April 6, the Bruins will face Hawai'i in Honolulu.
