Schedule Change Completes Fall Rowing Season

Nov. 5, 2001

Los Angeles - The UCLA Women's Rowing team will not compete this weekend at the San Diego Fall Classic, ending their fall rowing schedule. In place of the November 11 regatta, the Bruins have added the San Diego Crew Classic to their spring rowing schedule. The San Diego Crew Classic, one of the largest regattas in California, will be held on the weekend of April 6 and 7. The Bruins' next meet will be on March 9 against Long Beach State at Long Beach.

Last Week - On Saturday, November 3, the Bruin rowers won at the Head of the Marina, defeating LMU in their first appearance sponsored by UCLA Athletics since it was dropped after the 1991 season. On Sunday, November 4, the Bruins stroked at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival, placing fourth behind USC, UC Davis, and LMU.
