Indian Wells, Calif. - UCLA junior men's tennis player Benjamin Kohlloeffel won his third singles title in a row Sunday, after posting a straight-set victory in the finals of the National Collegiate Tennis Classic at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Kohlloeffel, the tournament's top seed and the nation's third-ranked player, recorded a 6-3, 7-6(5) win over Pepperdine's Scott Doerner. With the win, Kohlloeffel earns a qualifying wild card into the Pacific Life Open, an ATP event played in Indian Wells in March.

Kohlloeffel, who won both the ITA Regionals and the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in the fall, came just short of sweeping both titles at the N.C.T.C. He and teammate Philipp Gruendler fell 9-8(7) in the doubles final to Virginia's Rylan Rizza/Darrin Cohen.

UCLA sophomore Mathieu Dehaine was playing in the semifinals Sunday, as he took on Baylor's Matija Zgaga at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Dehaine lost 6-1, 6-4 in that match.

One Bruin doubles team is still alive at Sherwood, as Haythem Abid and Chris Surapol will meet Stanford's Matt Bruch/James Pade in the semifinals on Monday.
