Kim Vandenberg Named UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Vandenberg led the ninth-ranked Bruins to a 151-92 upset victory over third-ranked Stanford on Jan. 30 with wins in the 200m Fly (2:08.84) and 200m Free (2:00.68). She also swam the leadoff leg on the 200m Freestyle relay that won in 1:44.47. The UCLA win was only the second ever against the Cardinal. Against Cal, Vandenberg won the 200m Fly in 2:10.93 and placed second in the 200m Free (2:02.15). In the 100m Fly, her time of 1:00.49 was second only to 2002 World Female Swimmer of the Year Natalie Coughlin.

This is Vandenberg's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and second of her career.
