Men's Water Polo Ranked Fourth in Preseason Poll

Sept. 10, 2003

In the first CWPA poll of 2003, UCLA was ranked fourth, the same position the Bruins were ranked in the final poll of 2002. UCLA picked up 86 total points, behind top ranked and defending national champion Stanford, second-ranked USC and third-ranked California. Pepperdine completed the top five.

UCLA will play 12 of the top 20 teams this season, including each of the top nine. MPSF schools claimed nine of the top 12 spots.

The Bruins will open the season this weekend when they face-off with Pepperdine in a 11:00 a.m. match-up at the Pepperdine Tournament in Malibu. UCLA will also take on Cal Baptist, which was ranked 19th in the poll, at 1:30 p.m.
