The Bruins received two goals apiece from junior midfielder Pete Vagenas (both on penalty kicks) and sophomore forward McKinley Tennyson, Jr., as well as three assists from Hermann Trophy finalist Sasha Victorine. UCLA outshout Dominguez Hills 28-5.
Senior All-American Seth George opened the scoring in the 14th minute on a free kick from outside the box. After freshman Ryan Futagaki got taken down in the penalty area in the 32nd minute, Vagenas beat keeper Garrett Estrin on the resulting penalty kick. The Bruins were awarded another PK in the 36th minute, which Vagenas converted again.
Tennyson scored the first of his two goals in the 52nd minute. He was assisted by George and Victorine. Tennyson scored again in the 67th minute off an assist by freshman Sean Walker.
Junior defender Adam Cooper scored his first career goal in the 86th minute, and sophomore midfielder Shaun Tsakiris scored his first of the season on a free kick in the 89th minute.
Bruin keepers Nick Rimando (2 saves) and Kevin Perrault shared the shutout.
UCLA will next face NSCAA pre-season No. 8 South Carolina Sunday, Sept. 6 at 7 pm EST.
