Final Stats

Berkeley, Calif. - The 17th-ranked California women's soccer team fell to No. 3 UCLA, 2-0, Friday afternoon at Edwards Stadium. The Golden Bears fell to 11-6-2 and 3-4-1 in the Pac-10, while the Bruins improved to 16-2 (7-1 Pac-10).

UCLA's two superstars Mary-Frances Monroe and Stephanie Rigamat provided all the offense the Bruins needed.

Monroe gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute with a long blast past Cal goalkeeper Mallory Moser, who posted five saves in the game.

Rigamat closed out the scoring by cleaning up Sarah-Gayle Swanson's close-range shot, which Moser saved but couldn't coral.

Neither team could dent the scoreboard after halftime, but UCLA outshot Cal, 10-1 and 17-3 for the game. Kacy Hornor fired the Bears' only shot on goal for the game in the second half.

UCLA takes on No. 4 Stanford on Sunday in Stanford.
