The Bruins will resume Pac-10 competition this weekend, facing the No. 4 Stanford Cardinal and No. 9 California Golden Bears.
On Friday, January 31, the Bruins will face No. 4 Stanford at the deGuerre Pool in Stanford, CA at 1:00 PM. The Cardinal are currently 5-2 overall, 1-1 Pac-10. In its last meet, Stanford was led by Tara Kirk, who is undefeated collegiately in the 100 Breast, having won the event 21 straight times. Behind Kirk's effort, the Cardinal defeated No. 16 Arizona State 159-141. It was the Cardinal's 19th win in the last 21 dual meets.
In the overall series between the Bruins and Cardinal, Stanford leads the series 20-1.
Saturday, February 1, UCLA will face Cal at the Spieker Aquatics Complex at noon. The Golden Bears are currently 5-2 overall, 1-1 Pac-10. In their last meet, the Golden Bears lost to Arizona 136-107. Prior to that meet, they defeated Arizona State 166-131.
Cal leads the overall series 11-9.
Coach Cyndi Gallagher has had four Bruins swim qualifying times for the NCAA Championships (March 20-22). In addition to the automatic qualifiers, 11 individuals and two relay squads have provisionally qualified. Listed below are the Bruins' NCAA qualifiers.

National Letters of Intent
During the fall signing period, three recruits signed National Letters of Intent to join the Bruins.
Jeana Fuccillo (Lebanon, IL/Althoff Catholic HS), Katie Nelson (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA/Peninsula HS) and Amy Thurman (Orinda, CA/Miramonte HS) will enter as true freshman in fall 2003.
The Bruins will wrap up Pac-10 competition Saturday, February 15, against the USC Trojans. The meet will be held at the McDonald Swim Stadium, located on the USC campus, beginning at 1:00 PM.
The Pac-10 Championships will take place Thursday through Saturday, February 27 to March 1, in Federal Way, WA.
