IAAF World Track and Field Championships Come to a Close

As the World Track and Field Championships wrapped up yesterday, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, former Bruins competing for the US and other countries finished on a high note. Gail Devers, the defending 100m hurdle world champion, placed second in 12.54. The gold medal was won by Anjanette Kirkland(USA) in 12.42. Amy Acuff placed 10th in teh high jump finals, clearing a height of 6-2.75 (1.90m). For her performance, Acuff received the Xerox Athlete of the Day honor. Another former Bruin, Ato Boldon, ran the second leg of the 4x100m relay for Trinidad and Tobago, winning the bronze medal.
