Los Angeles - Eight UCLA men's tennis players were recently listed among the preseason singles and doubles rankings released this week by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
In singles, junior Tobias Clemens was the highest ranked UCLA player, checking in at No. 2 in the country. He was joined in the top-20 by junior Marcin Matkowski (No. 12) and senior Rodrigo Grilli (No. 16).
In doubles, the Bruins once again feature the top duo in the country, as Matkowski and Rojer are the preseason No. 1 doubles team. Clemens and senior Lassi Ketola check in at No. 18 and are followed by Grilli and sophomore Alberto Francis at No. 50.
The Bruins kickoff the fall season with the ITA All-American Championships, Oct. 6-13 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Clemens, Grilli and Matkowski are all main draw singles selections, while Ketola, Lam and Djahangiri will be competing in the qualifying tournament.
In doubles, Grilli and Matkowski join Clemens and Ketola as UCLA's main draw selections.
