LOS ANGELES - UCLA women's soccer goalkeeper Sarah Lombardo earned first-team Academic All-America honors Monday as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Lombardo, a junior goalkeeper from Long Beach (Long Beach Poly), maintains a 3.982 grade point average, majoring in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology. She had started nine matches this season before suffering a season-ending knee injury back on Oct. 19. Prior to her injury, Lombardo posted a 6-1-3 overall record with an 0.77 goals against average. She also had four shutouts.
Lombardo, who is the first-ever member of the UCLA women's soccer team to be named an Academic All-American, was also named a first-team All-Pac-10 Academic selection Monday.
