Four Bruins Earn MPSF Honors

WOODLAND, Calif. - Al Beaird, executive director of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation has announced the 2004 MPSF Women's Water Polo All-MPSF, MPSF All-Freshman and All-MPSF Tournament Teams. Kristina Kunkel was named to the MPSF First Team and All Tournament Team. Lauren Heineck and Emily Feher were named to the MPSF Second Team and Molly Cahill was named to the MPSF All-Freshman Team.

Sophomore center forward and co-captain Kristina Kunkel was the lone Bruin selected to the All-MPSF First Team. This season Kunkel led the Bruins with 44 goals and was named the March 2 MPSF Player of the Week. She was also named to the MPSF All-Tournament Team after scoring six goals in the tournament and helping lead the Bruins to a third place finish.

Sophomore center defender and co-captain Lauren Heineck and freshman Emily Feher were named to the All-MPSF Second Team. Heineck finished the season with 14 goals and was named the March 9 MPSF Player of the Week. In her first year in goal for the Bruins Feher recorded 169 saves and a 4.66 goals-against-average. Freshman driver Molly Cahill was named to the MPSF All-Freshman team after being second on the Bruins with 38 goals scored.
