The UCLA men's golf team finished eighth at The Prestige, hosted by UC Davis and Stanford at the Desert Willow Golf Resort Tuesday.
The Bruins three-round total of 861 was three-under par. Washington won the tournament with a team score of 844, 20-under par. Kansas, the first round leader, and Colorado finished second at 849, followed by Northwestern at 852 and UC Davis at 857.
UCLA sophomore John Merrick finished in a tie for fourth place individually at 208, eight-under par. Merrick fired a final round 66. Senior Parker McLachlin tied for 23rd at 215, one-under par. He posted a second round score of 69. Junior Sang-Eun Ji tied for 30th at even par 216. Sophomores Roy Moon (222) and Steve Conway (228) tied for 59th and 83rd, respectively.
North Carolina's Dustin Bray and Washington's Brock Mackenzie tied for low medalist honors at 203, 13-under par. Colorado's Joe Liley finished third at 207.
The Bruins will participate in the 49er Collegiate Classic later this week at the Industry Hills Zaharias Course.
