Tiffany Joh Named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

June 6, 2006

Sophomore-to-be Tiffany Joh (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo HS) of the UCLA Women's Golf team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week (June 19-25).

Joh won the U.S. Women's Amateur Publinks Championship, a USGA "major", becoming the first UCLA player since Mary Enright in 1981 to win the USWAPL. Joh placed third in the stroke play portion of the tournament with rounds of 70-68--138 (-6) and then won five match play competitions, including a 36-hole final 6 and 5. She sealed the victory with an eagle on the 11th hole. Joh played her final two rounds in the equivalent of 11-under par in 31 holes, with the usual match play concessions.

This is Joh's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.

Also nominated: Nicole Leach, W. Track & Field
