LOS ANGELES, Calif. - UCLA received goals from eight different scorers as the No. 4 Bruins defeated No. 14 UC Santa Barbara, 8-2, Saturday afternoon in an MPSF men's water polo match at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center. Sophomore goalkeeper Matt Kellogg contributed eight saves as UCLA won its 19th straight home contest and improved to 15-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
The Bruins scored once in the first period, three times in the second and third periods and once more in the fourth period. UCSB (9-11, 0-2) was held scoreless in the first half before netting single goals in each of the final two periods. Sophomore Matt Tilburg scored both of the Gauchos' goals.
Tilburg scored UCSB's first goal at the 0:30 mark in the third period break up UCLA's shutout.
