Bruin Women's Results

Friday Final Results
Hammer Throw - junior Jessica Cosby won the event on her first throw (208-9, 10 points) and senior Cari Soong, the defending champion, placed second (203-1, eight points), picking up 18 points for the Bruins.

"There will be more emphasis on the hammer," said Cosby, who is the defending Pac-10 champion in the shot put and the 2002 NCAA Outdoor shot put champ. "It took awhile to understand the rotation of it, but I'm starting to understand it and I'm enjoying it now. Throwing with Cari is helpful, I think it helps us relax.
