Heintz Leads Santa Clara Invitational

UCLA freshman golfer Chris Heintz is leading the SCU Invitational after two rounds at the Silver Creek Valley CC in Santa Clara. The tournament, hosted by Santa Clara University, continues Tuesday at the par 72, 6,926-yard course.

The Bruins boast four individuals in the field, and Heintz holds a one-shot lead over two players from Santa Clara. Heintz posted scores of 73-72-145, one-over par.

Freshman Peter Campbell is tied for 13th at eight over par 152 (79-72). Sophomore Breene Murphy and freshman Joakim Renstrom are tied for 18th at nine-over 153. Murphy posted rounds of 76-77 and Renstrom had scores of 82-71.

Santa Clara leads the event with a 36-hole score of 599.
