The MPSF Champion and undefeated UCLA women's water polo team will travel to Michigan this week as the top seed in the NCAA tournament. This season has been record breaking for the Bruins. Their 30-0 record is the best record ever in NCAA play and they have the longest single season winning streak of 30 games. Co-MPSF Player of the Year, Kelly Rulon, is currently fourth in UCLA all-time single season scoring and will move into second with two goals in the NCAA tournament. The other Co-MPSF Player of the Year, Natalie Golda, has reached third this year in career scoring for the Bruins. All three matches of the tournament will be broadcast live on the Internet at www.uclabruins.com.

After finishing the season undefeated and winning the MPSF conference tournament, the Bruins enter the NCAA playoffs with the top seed. This year, the tournament is being held at the Canham Natatorium on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, MI. This year, the tournament has been expanded to eight teams. Five automatic bids will be awarded to the conference champions from CWPA, the MAAC, the MPSF, the SCIAC and the WWPA. The remaining three bids given to USC, Hawaii, and Stanford were at-large bids. In the first round, UCLA will play No. 8 seed Wagner (23-7) on May 13. Unranked Wagner entered the tournament by winning the MAAC conference championship. The Bruins have never faced Wagner.

Weekly Recap: MPSF Awards
Last week, the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation conference announced its yearly awards and UCLA was well-represented. Natalie Golda and Kelly Rulon were named Co-Players of the Year. Emily Feher was chosen as Goalie of the Year. Adam Krikorian was named Co-Head Coach of the Year. Feher, Golda, and Rulon were given frist team All-MPSF status. Thalia Munro was honored with All-MPSF Second Team. Freshman Gabrielle Domanic received All-MPSF Honorable Mention and was named to the All-MPSF Freshman Team. Brittany Rowe was also named to the freshman team. Natalie Golda was chosen as the MVP of the MPSF tournament.
The Bruins are averaging 12.06 goals per game while only giving up 4.13 goals.
UCLA has outscored its opponents 106-26 in the first quarter.
The Bruins have never been 30-0 in the history of UCLA women's water polo.
They currently have the longest single season winning streak in women's water polo of 30 games.
The 22-0 score in this year's Colorado State match is the second highest margin of victory in UCLA women's water polo history.
Sophomore Kelly Rulon leads Bruin scorers with 64 goals, followed by junior Thalia Munro with 49.
