LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Loyola Marymount scored three times in the second inning and that's all the Lions would need to defeat UCLA 4-2, Tuesday afternoon at George Page Stadium. The Bruins put up two runs of their own in the fourth but that was all they could muster en route to their school record eighteenth consecutive loss.
LMU's Kyle Mura hit a leadoff home run in the Lion second and right fielder James Cooper would contribute a two-RBI single later in the inning to provide LMU all the runs it would need.
Bruin shortstop Tommy Lansdon and center fielder Josh Roenicke knocked in the two Bruin runs, both in the fourth inning. Lansdon's RBI single scored second baseman Sean Carpenter and Roenicke's run-scoring ground out drove home Lansdon two batters later.
Senior Joe Frazee's RBI ground out in the fifth accounted for the last run of the game.
Gabe Bueno earned the victory for LMU..
Right-hander Adam Simon (1-3) suffered the defeat for UCLA, allowing three runs on five hits over two innings in his third start of the year.
The Bruins are now 7-22.
