Los Angeles, CA - This afternoon, the No. 1 UCLA Bruins defeated the No. 6 San Diego State Aztecs, 10-2, in an MPSF conference match-up. The Bruins improve to 16-3 overall, 5-2 MPSF. San Diego State is now 13-8 overall, 3-5 MPSF.
Sophomore Kristyn Pulver led UCLA's scoring effort, netting a hat trick, including a penalty shot. Following Pulver was senior Maureen Flanagan, who netted two goals in less than a minute. Junior Natalie Golda also netted two goals in the victory. Senior Robin Beauregard and freshmen Kelly Rulon and Lauren Heineck each scored a goal. And, senior goalie Jaime Hipp had seven saves on the day.
Holly Hartzell and Amber Prestegard scored San Diego State's goals. Goalie Sara Daseler had two saves and Ashley Zabel had three saves.
The Bruins will travel north to face the California Golden Bears, April 5 at noon, and the Pacific Tigers on April 6.
