Stanford, Calif. - Despite winning the doubles point and taking a 1-0 lead heading into singles play, the No. 7 UCLA women's tennis team couldn't manage a singles victory Saturday, falling to No. 4 Stanford, 6-1 at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium in Stanford, Calif.
UCLA received doubles victories at court Nos. 2 and 3. In the No. 2 doubles position, Megan Bradley and Lauren Fisher defeated Stanford's Lauren Barnikow/Erin Burdette, 8-6. At No. 3 doubles, Mariko Fritz-Krockow and Catherine Hawley knocked off Stanford's Keiko Tokuda/Story Tweedie-Yates, 8-3.
The Bruins will return home to the Los Angeles Tennis Center next week to host Washington State on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and Washington on Saturday at Noon.
