UCLA No. 5 In The U. S. In This Week's Trackwire 25

In this week's (April 19) Trackwire 25, UCLA is rated No. 5 in the U.S. Jeanette Bolden's Bruins, the defending NCAA Outdoor T & F Champions, last week were ranked No. 4 in the U. S.

Rounding out the nation's Top Five teams are -1. Texas (68), 2. South Carolina (49), 3. Florida (46), 4. Tennessee (45), 5. UCLA (43).

This week's Trackwire Top 25 - 1. Texas (68), 2. South Carolina (49), 3. Florida (46), 4. Tennessee (45), 5. UCLA (43), 6. Nebraska/Stanford (34), 8. Miami (FL) (28), 9. USC (25), 10. Texas Southern (20), 11. BYU (19), 12. Arizona State (18), 13. Auburn/Washington State/Alabama (16), 16. Georgia (15), 17. Kansas State (14), 18. Georgia Tech/Cal Poly/Oklahoma State (13), 21. Arkansas (12), 22. Wake Forest/Baylor (11), 24. North Carolina/Colorado/SMU/Washington/Clemson/Air Force (10).

On Saturday, April 30, at USC, the Bruin and Trojan women will meet in the annual traditional dual meet. UCLA leads the series 18-3 and has won the last 12 consecutive dual meets vs. the Trojans (Bolden is 11-0 vs. USC).

On May 14-15, UCLA will host the 2005 Pac-10 Championships at Drake Stadium. Currently there are six women's Pac-10 teams in the nation's Top 25 - No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Stanford, No. 9 USC, No. 12 Arizona State, No. 13 Washington State and No. 24 Washington.

On this week's Dandy Dozen, there are seven Bruins listed, including two event leaders - senior Monique Henderson (400m) and junior Chelsea Johnson (PV).
