The UCLA men's golf team finished 14th at the Carpet Capital Invitational, hosted by Georgia Tech at The Farm in Rocky Face, GA.
The Bruins posted a final round team score of 315, 27-over par, and tied with UNLV at 916. They were one shot behind 13th place East Tennessee State. Georgia Tech won the event with a 54-hole total of 858, six-under par. The Yellowjackets were eight over par on Sunday after playing the first two rounds in 14-under par. Tennessee finished second at 868, followed by Wake Forest at 872.
Individually, the Bruins' Steve Conway tied for 33rd at 226 and senior Parker McLachlin tied for 40th at 229. Sophomore John Merrick tied for 47th at 231, sophomore Roy Moon tied for 50th at 232 and junior Sang-Eun Ji tied for 64th at 236.
Clemson's D.J. Trahan won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 210, six-under par. Florida's Camilo Villegas finished second at 212 and Georgia Tech's Troy Matteson finished in a tie for third at 213 with Georgia's Ryan Hybl.
