SAN JOSE, Calif. - Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Executive Director Al Beaird announced the MPSF All-Conference Teams for the 2000 season Tuesday. Five Bruins received the recognition, including three-time All-American Catharine von Schwarz.

von Schwarz, who redshirted last year in order to compete with U.S. Women's National Team, has been a part of UCLA's three national championship teams in 1996, '97 and '98. During her four years at UCLA, she helped guide the Bruins to 119 wins and only seven losses. Upon her return to UCLA this year, she made an immediate impact, registering 32 goals, which currently ranks fifth on the team. von Schwarz, this year's team captain, garnered second-team all-tournament honors at the MPSF Tournament this past weekend.

Also named to the all-conference team were sophomore Elaine Zivich and senior Erin Golaboski, who picked up second-team accolades. Zivich is currently ranked second on the team with 40 goals. On February 7, she became the first MPSF Player of the Week for the 2000 season after earning Tournament MVP honors at the third annual Rainbow Wahine Challenge. Golaboski made her return to the field this season after serving as the starting goalkeeper on last year's squad. She currently ranks fourth on the team with 35 goals. On February 14, she was named MPSF Player of the Week after helping UCLA capture the title at the UC San Diego NoGrip Invitational, and this past weekend she was named to the All-MPSF Tournament second-team.

Rounding out the list of Bruins who received honors were sophomore transfer Kelly Heuchan and freshman Jessica Lopez, who earned honorbale mention honors. Heuchan, who transfered from the University of Western Australia, is the team's leading-scorer with 51 goals. She has scored in all but five of UCLA's 28 games this season. Lopez is the team's third leading-scorer with 37 goals. On April 3, she was named MPSF Player of the Week after scoring four goals in the Bruins' 9-7 upset of then-top-ranked California. She also received second-team honors at the MPSF Tournament.
