Seattle, WA - At the Last Chance Meet on March 6, held at Dempsey Indoor Stadium in Seattle, WA, senior Lena Nilsson automatically qualified for this week's NCAA Indoor Championships. Nilsson, the defending 800m indoor champion, ran in her fist individual event on Saturday, the mile run. She placed second in an automatic qualifying time of 4:37.62.
Other Bruins competing were redshirt freshman Jenna Timinsky, sophomore Ashley Caldwell and senior Sani Roseby. Timinsky placed third in the 800m in 2:10.09. Caldwell, also running in the 800m, placed fifth in 2:11.22. And, Roseby placed second in the 60m hurdles in a provisional time of 8.31. In the qualifying heats, she ran a provisional 8.20.
The NCAA Championships will take placed this Friday and Saturday, March 12-13, at Arkansas' Tyson Indoor Track in Fayetteville, AR. The finalized least of athletes accepted to the meet will be announced later today.
