In the first game of the Bruin post season, No. 1 UCLA defeated Cal State Northridge 14-4. In an unusual turn of events, the Bruins were down 2-1 in the first quarter. UCLA has never trailed at the end of the first quarter. The Bruins came back to take a 5-3 lead at half time and then didn't look back after that. They dominated the second half, outscoring Northridge, 9-1.
Natalie Golda and Kelly Rulon were the leading scorers for the Bruins with three goals each. Freshman Brittany Rowe had two goals. Monique Blanchard, Brittany Bowlus, Kamaile Crowell, Gabrielle Domanic, Kacy Kunkel, and Thalia Munro scored one. Emily Feher had two saves. For Northridge, Chari Christopher had three goals and Allison Brookes scored one. Goalkeeper Graziella Caredda had four saves.
The Bruins' next game is on Saturday April 30 at 2:00 PM against fourth-seeded Hawaii. The Bruins have defeated Hawaii twice earlier this season.
