Bruins Leading Wildcat Invitational after First Round

The UCLA men's golf team leads the field after 18 holes at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational, hosted by the University of Arizona at Arizona National Golf Club.

The Bruins posted a team score of 273, 11-under par, and lead second place Arizona by three shots. Pepperdine is third at 280, followed by USC and UC Irvine, which are tied for fourth at 282.

Junior Roy Moon is tied for the individual lead with Arizona's Reid Hatley at 65, six-under par. UCLA's Travis Johnson is tied for third at five-under par 66 and John Merrick is tied for 15th at one-under par 70. Freshman Spencer Levin and junior Steve Conway are tied for 31st at 72. Moon's score is a career low and Johnson's score tied a season low.

Second round action continues Monday afternoon.
