Matt Barnes To Serve One-Game Suspension

Walnut Creek, CA - UCLA senior forward Matt Barnes will serve an NCAA rules-mandated one-game suspension for his involvement in a fight during last night's game at California.

Barnes was assessed a flagrant personal foul and ejected from the UCLA-California game with 2:24 remaining in the game. It was determined by the game officials that the violent nature of the blow delivered by Barnes to California's Shantay Legans warranted the act being deemed a fight under Basketball Rule 4-23.

The applicable rule required suspension from the remainder of the game last night and suspension from UCLA's next game, which will be February 23 at Stanford.
