LOS ANGELES - The two-time defending Pac-10 Champion UCLA women's soccer team is preparing for its tough 1999 season with a competitive spring schedule. During the spring season the Bruins will face one national team, two national champions and one Final Four team. Highlighting the spring schedule is UCLA's scrimmage against the Mexican National team on Friday, April 9 at 1 p.m. at the North Athletic Field on the UCLA campus. Admission to the game is free.

UCLA will compete in an exhibition game with Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday, April 17 at 7 p.m. at Bakersfield. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the game will be donated to the American Cancer Society. In the exhibition match-up last season of the UCLA and Cal State Bakersfield men's teams, $5000 were generated for charity.

A long anticipated match-up between identical twin sisters Skylar (UCLA defender) and Jacqui (Santa Clara forward) Little will finally happen when UCLA takes on 1998 Final Four competitor Santa Clara on Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at Santa Clara.

The Bruins will round out their spring season against the three-time National Champion Ajax Women's Club team on Saturday, May 1 at 11 a.m. at Nansen Field in Rolling Hills, CA. Current UCLA assistant coach Lisa Shattuck and former players Traci Arkenberg and Sarah Miller are members of Ajax and UCLA head coach Todd Saldaa guided the club team to the 1993 national title.

The Bruins are 1-0-1 in the spring season, tying LMU at zero and defeating 1998 NAIA National Champion Azusa Pacific 3-0.
