After scoring 10 goals in three matches last week, junior driver Brett Ormsby was named MPSF/Mikasa Co-Player of the Week for the week of November 9th. He shares the award with Stanford's Tony Azevedo.
Ormsby was also named the MPSF/Mikasa Player of the Week on September 28th. With this week's honor, Ormsby has earned five such awards. It also marks the fourth time this season a Bruin has been honored by the conference.
The El Cajon native posted five goals against UC Irvine and four goals against Long Beach State in a pair of wins last weekend to lift UCLA to a 6-1 conference mark. He also added a goal in the Bruins' 7-6 overtime win over Loyola Marymount in non-conference action.
On the year, Ormsby has scored 54 goals, which is tops among Bruins and fifth in the MPSF. He is averaging 2.84 goals per game, which is good for third in the conference.
