*UCLA recorded its first shutout since blanking Stanford at the Rose Bowl, 21-0, on Oct. 30, 2004

*UCLA's defense held Stanford to 166 yards of total offense, the lowest by an opponent since Ohio State also totaled 166 yards on Sept. 22, 2001 in UCLA's 21-6 victory. *UCLA leads the all-time series against Stanford, 43-31-3 and has won the last three meetings in the series.

*UCLA has now won nine straight games at the Rose Bowl, its longest streak since 1997-99, when it won 13 consecutive games.

*UCLA had a blocked punt returned for a touchdown in the first quarter (block by Gavin Ketchum, return by Eric McNeal), the Bruins' first since Jibril Raymo returned a Matt Clark blocked punt for a touchdown on Sept. 28, 2002 at San Diego State.

*Kenneth Lombard recovered a fumble and ran it in five yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The last time a UCLA player returned a fumble for a touchdown occurred on Sept. 17, 2005 against Oklahoma (Spencer Havner, 13 yards).

*Freshman running back Chane Moline had the first two touchdowns of his career, a two-yard run in the third quarter and a one-yard run in the fourth.

*UCLA has held its last three opponents to fewer than 60 yards rushing (Rice - 53, Washington - 49, Stanford - 49). The last time UCLA did this was in 1993, when the Bruins held Stanford to 33, San Diego State to 30 and BYU to 25 yards.

*UCLA has held its last four opponents (Utah, 287; Rice, 184; Washington, 249; Stanford, 166) to less than 300 yards total offense. The last time the Bruins held four straight opponents under 300 was in 1992 (five in a row - San Diego State, Arizona, Stanford, Washington State and Arizona State).

*With 88 yards rushing and 33 yards receiving tonight, Chris Markey moved up to 21st on UCLA's career all-purpose yards chart with 2,612 total yards.

*Place kicker Justin Medlock moved into sole possession of third place on UCLA's all-time made field goals list with 52. He is five behind second-place Bjorn Merten, who has 57.

*Tonight's attendance of 72,095 was the highest for a September home game since UCLA drew 73,743 on Sept. 22, 2001 against Ohio State.
