Bruins Fall to USC at the Stanford Invitational

Stanford, CA - The UCLA Women's Water Polo team fell to USC 12-4 in the first place game of the Stanford Invitational. The Bruins who are the number one ranked team in the nation fall to 3-1 on the season.

The Bruins fell behind 0-3 after one period and could never recover from the deficit. Though UCLA would score three times in the second period, the Women of Troy would counter back with three goals of their own and would take a 6-3 lead going into the third period. The Bruins would get no closer the rest of the game, again being outscored 0-3 in the third period. In fourth period the Bruins were able to find the back of the net once, but couldn't prevent USC from scoring three more times as the Women of Troy earned the 12-4 victory.

Sophomore Kristina Kunkel scored twice for UCLA, with Sophomore Paloma Slezak and freshman Brittney Bowlus each scoring once.

Goalkeeper Emily Feher finished with six saves.

UCLA will return to action on February 22 at UC Santa Barbara
