Art Venegas' Bruin men's team is No. 10 in the U. S. (the Bruin women this week are ranked No. 1). The No. 1 team is Tennessee, the defending NCAA Outdoor champion.

Other Pac-10 teams in this week's Trackwire men's Top 25 are: No. 11 (tie) Stanford and No. 14 (tie) USC.

The Trackwire Top 25 is a power ranking of NCAA Div. I T & F teams. The ranking's methodology takes into account a variety of statistical predictors and is intended to project the outcome of the NCAA Div. I Outdoor T & F Championships. The scores provided with the rankings indicate each team's projected score based on form charts for each NCAA event.

In the IAAF/USATF national poll, Team Power Ranking, the Bruins are No. 2 (370.52) behind No. 1 Tennessee (374.49). Rounding out the Top-5 are No. 3 Florida (364.28), No. 4 Nebraska (362.65) and No. 5 Arizona State (358.21). Team Power Ranking is based upon individual marks and dual meet strength.
