UCLA's Cari Soong Wins Women's Hammer Throw.

In first day results of the second annual Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee T & F Invitational held at UCLA's Drake Stadium, the women's and men's invitational hammer throws were the only events of the day.

UCLA senior Cari Soong won the women's event, with a meet record (breaking her mark of 202-8, 2003), season-best and NCAA Regional Qualifying mark of 209-2. Bruin junior Jessica Cosby placed third overall (second collegian), with a mark of 192-6.

The Rafer Johnson/JJK Invite continues on Friday and Saturday at Drake Stadium. On Friday, collegiate open events begin at 10 a.m. (field events) and 12:30 p.m. (running events). On Saturday, invitational events begin at 9:15 a.m. (field events) and 12:15 p.m. (running events).
