Bruins to Host UNLV Before Heading to Bay Area . . .
The No. 10-ranked UCLA women's tennis team (10-5; 3-1 Pac-10) will play three matches this week beginning with a home contest against UNLV this Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the Bruins' showdown with the Rebels, UCLA heads to the Bay Area for non-Pac-10 counting matches against No. 12 Cal (13-4; 2-1 Pac-10) and No. 1 Stanford (16-0; 3-0 Pac-10). UCLA will face Cal on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and Stanford on Saturday at Noon.
Bruins Get Four in a Row with Victory Over Hurricanes . . .
UCLA was pushed to the limit against No. 16 Miami back on Mar. 17, however the Bruins were able to pull out a 4-3 win and extend their winning streak to four in a row. After taking the doubles point, UCLA received singles victories from Daniela Bercek, Sarah Gregg and Laura Gordon. It was Gregg's win at the No. 4 position that clinched the victory for UCLA.
UCLA Ranked No. 10 Nationally . . .
UCLA checks in at No. 10 in the first computer rankings of the year released on Mar. 23. Individually, Jackie Carleton is ranked No. 14 in singles and is followed by No. 44 Daniela Bercek and No. 78 Alex McGoodwin. Despite not playing together since early February, Carleton and Lauren Fisher are ranked No. 10 in doubles, mostly due to their fall results. New team rankings will be released this Tuesday, while individual rankings will not be released again until Apr. 6.

Bercek & Gregg Flawless in Last Four . . .
During the Bruins' recent four-match winning streak, the middle part of UCLA's lineup has come up big. In fact, only Daniela Berckek at No. 3 and Sarah Gregg at No. 4 have not lost a singles match. The duo has also teamed together at No. 3 doubles, becoming the only Bruin team not to lose during this stretch as well.
Five-Match Homestand Begins Apr. 7 . . .
Following this weekend's trip to the Bay Area, the Bruins will have just five regular-season contests remaining. The good news for UCLA however, is that they are all at home. UCLA will host Pepperdine on Apr. 7, followed by meetings with Washington (Apr. 9), Washington State (Apr. 10), Stanford (Apr. 16) and Cal (Apr. 17). The Bruins could also be selected to host NCAA Regional competition the weekend of May 15.

Head Coach StellaSampras Webster . . .
Stella Sampras Webster enters her eighth season as the head coach of the UCLA women's tennis program with a career record of 122-74 (.622). In her first seven seasons at UCLA, Sampras Webster guided the Bruins to six top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships, including four top-5 showings (1997, 2000 2002 and 2003). In addition, UCLA has reached the NCAA Quarterfinals three out of the last four years (2000, 2002 and 2003). Under her tutelage, the Bruins have finished in the top-10 nationally, six out of seven years. In 2000, Sampras Webster was named the ITA West Region Coach of the Year.
