LOS ANGELES - Midfielder Danesha Adams became just the second player in UCLA history to score four goals in a game Friday, helping the top-seeded UCLA women's soccer team register a dominating 5-0 victory over second-seeded Virginia in an NCAA Quarterfinal showdown at Drake Stadium. With the win, UCLA (21-1-2) advances to its third-straight College Cup and will meet Florida State (20-3-1) on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. (CST). Florida State advanced after upsetting top-seeded North Carolina on penalty kicks earlier in the day.

UCLA jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in just the fourth minute of the match when Adams snuck behind Virginia's back line to gather a ball sent through by forward Iris Mora. Adams' right-footed shot went just under Cavalier goalkeeper Christina de Vries, who had dove to the right in an attempt to stop the shot.

UCLA enjoyed a 1-0 lead until the 55th minute when Adams tacked on her second goal of the evening on a rebound opportunity following a save by de Vries. Adams' initial shot was deflected, sending the ball high into the air. Before de Vries could jump up to catch it, Adams followed it up with a header into the back of the net.

Adams' third goal of the night came less than 10 minutes later when she ran onto yet another through ball, this time sent in from freshman Christina DiMartino.

Freshman forward Kara Lang got in on the scoring action in the 73rd minute when she put away a shot from about eight yards out on the right side. DiMartino and Mora were credited with the assists on that goal. Lang, who has 15 points (7g, 1a) in the postseason, has now scored in all four of UCLA's matches during the NCAA Tournament.

Adams rounded out the scoring for the Bruins in the 82nd minute on a ball sent through from freshman midfielder McCall Zerboni. It marked the third time in the match that Adams was able to get past the Virginia defense, creating a one-v-one opportunity with de Vries, whom she beat for her fourth goal of the evening.

"(Danesha) is the fastest kid in the country I believe," said UCLA head coach Jillian Ellis, who has now guided four Bruin teams to the College Cup. "Her pace is always a factor in the game. It was just a great team effort. The defense played fantastic, the midfielders were unbelievable. I'm just extremely happy with our performance this evening because Virginia is a great team.

UCLA set a new single-season record for victories in a season with its 21st of the year Friday. The old mark was 20 set by teams in 2001 and 2003. The Bruins have outscored their opponents 21-0 in the NCAA Tournament.

College Station, Texas is the site of this year's College Cup, hosted by Texas A&M. The other semifinal on Friday will feature Penn State and Portland.
