Djahangiri Falls at Omni Hotels Nationals

Farmers Branch, Texas - UCLA men's tennis player Erfan Djahangiri dropped his first-round match Thursday in the opening day of competition at the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas.

Djahangiri, the only men's tennis player in the tournament, earned a spot in the main draw by winning the Omni Hotels Region VIII-South Championships at Pepperdine two weeks ago. He fell in straight sets Thursday to Georgia Tech's Roger Anderson, 6-3, 7-5.

Djahangiri will play in the consolation draw which begins Friday.
