Oct. 19, 1999

LOS ANGELES - UCLA junior guard Todd Ramasar on Monday underwent successful left shoulder surgery at the UCLA Medical Center. The three-and-one-half hour procedure, to stabilize the joint and repair a cartilage tear, was performed by Bruin team physician Gerald Finerman.

Ramasar, 6-5 from Corona and Riverside North HS, will begin rehabilitation in about a week and will miss at least 12 weeks of practice.

As a sophomore last season, Ramasar appeared in 13 of UCLA's 31 games, including six of the Bruins' final eight contests, averaging 2.7 minutes, 0.8 points and 0.2 rebounds.
