UCLA safety Jarrad Page was selected on the second day of the NFL Draft and several other Bruins have reached free agent agreements.

Page, a four-year starter at strong safety, was selected in the seventh round (No. 228) by the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2005, he ranked second on the squad with 72 tackles (53 solos), including seven for losses. During his career, he made 249 tackles and nine interceptions, returning two for touchdowns.

On Saturday, tight end Marcedes Lewis was selected in the first round (No. 28) by the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the second round, Jacksonville selected running back Maurice Drew with the 60th pick.

Following the draft, four other Bruins reached free agent agreements with NFL teams.

Quarterback Drew Olson, who finished eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting, is now a member of the Baltimore Ravens. Olson enjoyed a fantastic senior season, setting numerous single-game and single-season records while leading the Bruins to a 10-2 record, including four fourth-quarter double-digit comebacks. On the year, he completed a school-record 242 passes for 3,198 yards (No. 2) and a school-record 34 touchdowns to go with just six interceptions. He set a school-record with six touchdown passes against Oregon State and threw for 510 yards (No. 2 in school history) versus Arizona State.

Olson, who started 38 (24-14 record as a starter) of his 45 games, finished his career ranked second in school history in passing yards (8,532), completions (664), touchdown passes (67) and total offense (8,324).

Spencer Havner made 402 tackles as a Bruin

Linebacker Spencer Havner, who led the Bruins in tackles in each of the last two years, has joined the Washington Redskins. A four-year starter, he ranks No. 3 in school history with 402 tackles and 42.0 tackles for losses. He also set a school record with four defensive touchdowns (three interception returns and one fumble return) and made 11 career interceptions. He was a semifinalist for the Butkus and Lombardi Awards as both a junior and a senior.

Offensive tackle Ed Blanton, a three-year starter, has reached an agreement with the New York Jets. A starter in 36 of 37 games over the last three years, he has been the team's weakside tackle the last two seasons, helping Maurice Drew rush for over 1,900 yards in that span. A Pac-10 honorable mention selection, he helped UCLA gain 5,172 yards of total offense in 2005, the fifth-highest total in school history.

Cornerback Marcus Cassell, who started 19 games over the last two years, is a member of the Carolina Panthers. In 2005, he started all 12 games at left cornerback and made 59 tackles. He also tied for the team lead with 10 passes broken up.
