UCLA Blue Team Heads to Cougar Invitational

The UCLA Blue Team heads to San Diego County for the 6th Annual Cougar Classic to be hosted by Cal State San Marcos at San Luis Rey Downs Golf Course in Bonsall, CA.

Three freshmen and a sophomore will headline the UCLA foursome. Sophomore Chris Heintz, a veteran of the Gold Team, will lead the Bruins in the 54-hole event, which begins on Mon., Feb. 28 with 36 holes and ends on Tues., Mar. 1 with the final round.

Heintz is averaging 75.0 strokes per round and tied for 12th at the Gold Rush in his best outing this season. Freshman Brandon Christianson is averaging 74.0 in 14 rounds with a pair of Top 10 finishes. Craig Leslie owns a 75.2 average in 14 rounds with one Top 10 finish that featured an opening round 69 (-3). Matt Marshall rounds out the group averaging 77.1 with one Top 25 finish at the Santa Clara University Invitational in October.
